A new mobile app developed locally to help retailers “save the sale” will be discussed by its creator Monday, June 19, at the next Santa Maria Tech Brew, this time at a new location.
Orcutt's One Way Board Shop co-owner and 1996 Righetti High School graduate Dan Pankrantz will discuss the mobile app he and his brother Dave created to help specialty retailers make a sale whether they have the product on hand or not.
The free event for “geeks, makers and entrepreneurs” will take place at MIYB Spaces, 731 S. Lincoln St., behind the Santa Maria Inn, starting with registration and networking at 5 p.m., followed by the presentation at 6:15 p.m. and networking again at 6:45 p.m.
Pankrantz’s entrepreneurial journey began when he opened his first skateboard shop in 1997, then became a multilocation clothing and specialty shop retailer and now has a new focus on a technology-driven retailer's tool to tap into the rise in online shopping.
He launched Exchange Collective in beta format in 2016, and it is now in 25 stores in California.
Because space is limited, those planning to attend Tech Brew are being advised to register as soon as possible by visiting m/e/softec-tech-brew-sm-2017-tickets and clicking on “Select a Date” to find June 19.
“Attending the event is free, but we do ask that you register,” said Steve Burgess. Tech Brew ambassador. “This allows us to plan a ‘wow’ event and make sure we do not exceed the facility limits.”
Tech Brew is a networking and informational event sponsored by Softec, the Central Coast Technology Alliance. For more information, visit http://softec.org.
