It has finally come to fruition: The first non-skill position player has won the SMT Player of the Week vote.

And he did it in convincing fashion.

Righetti's Caleb Thomas is this week's winner after hauling in 366 total votes, well clear of the second-place finisher, Jared Sutton of Orcutt Academy.

Thomas earned the Week Three vote after dominating in the trenches for the Warriors in their win at Santa Maria. Non-skill position players rarely land the SMT Player of the Week award, but Thomas had little trouble this week.

He piled up 166 votes on santamariatimes.com; 116 more on lompocrecord.com and 84 more on syvnews.com.

Sutton wasn't too far behind in total votes and actually led on santamariatimes.com with 184. Sutton voters, though, didn't follow through like the Thomas crew, as Sutton had just 60 votes on lompocrecord.com and 59 more on syvnews.com for a total of 303.

Remember, votes from all three sites will be combined to determine the winner each week.

Damien Robles, Thomas teammate, was third in the voting with 199 total votes. Robles had 130 votes on santamariatimes.com; 33 on lompocrecord.com and 36 on syvnews.com. Robles had 144 yards and 3 TDs in the Warriors' win over Santa maria.

St. Joseph running back Jayden Vargas was fourth with 96 total votes after rushing for 177 yards on 23 carries against Bishop Diego.
