The totals from all three sits will be combined to determine the winner.Dudes balled out last week.

Toa Taua was downright outrageous, but still dropped his yards-per-carry average.

Dusty Gregg broke a school record.

Blake Truhitte had another stellar game, but his team lost. Mathew Garcia sent Truhitte's Saints to that defeat with a gutty performance.

Luis Diego Riquelme helped his team get its first win. James Gilmet kept his team on the right track.

And they're all up for the SMT Player of the Week of the honor.

Somehow, Taua rushed for 166 yards on 13 carries with 3 TDs and his average per carry dropped nearly a full yard. Yes, he came into the at 15.8 and left it at 15.1

Gregg threw six TD passes for his Pirates, as they moved to 4-0 with a 41-7 road win at Templeton. That broke the school single game record that Mike McCoy set last year.

Truhitte may have put together his best game of the season, but it wasn't enough to knock off the Panthers. Truhitte was nearly perfect through the air and unstoppable on the ground single-handily running the Saints offense.

Mathew Garcia put together the best game I've seen him play. Garcia continuously shrugged off would-be-tacklers, twice competing big pass plays while in the grasp of a defender. One went to Nick Robledo on perhaps the nicest plays of the season.

Garcia threw for 271 yards and two TDs as the Panthers beat the Saints 32-28.

Gilmet and Riquelme each topped the 200-yard rushing mark in their teams' wins. Gilmet carried the ball 32 times for 216 yards in the 38-20 win over St. Joseph. Riquelme had 218 yards on just 24 carries. Both had 3 TDs.

Frank Lopez of Santa Maria and Lompoc's Ruben Cortez are both candidates this week for their defensive performances. Lopez had 13 tackles and two sacks for the Saints. Cortez had three sacks in the 42-0 win for the Braves over Righetti.

Dusty Gregg, Santa Ynez QB: 19 for 25 for 341 yards, 6 TDs, 0 INTs; 12 carries 23 yards; 5 tackles (2 solo).

Blake Truhitte, Santa Maria QB: 14 for 25 for 223 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs; 17 carries, 123 yards; 4 punts for 144 yards.

Frank Lopez, Santa Maria RB-LB: 8 carries, 4 yards, TD; 13 tackles (8 solo); 2 TFLs; 2 sacks.

James Gilmet, Arroyo Grande RB: 32 carries, 216 yards, 3 TDs.

Luis Diego Riquelme, Nipomo RB: 24 carries, 218 yards, 3 TDs; 1 catch, 12 yards; 1 tackle.
