Registration is open for the S'mores-n-Snores Family Campout, hosted by the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department at Pioneer Park.
On August 1 families are invited to participate in the campout in the park, at 1000 W. Foster Road. Organizers are calling it the perfect opportunity to take a mini “staycation” at the city park.
Registration is available at the Recreation and Parks Department office, 615 S. McClelland St. Campsites are allowed up to six people and one adult is required per site, officials said. Registration is $20 if at least one person is already enrolled in the city's “Got Camp!” program, and $30 without the pervious enrollment.
The campout begins Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. and wraps up Aug. 2 at 10 a.m. The event includes games, crafts, sing-a-longs, a bonfire and s'mores.
Registration deadline is July 29.
No alcohol is allowed at the park, organizers said.
